Type-Moon: A Journey That Begins with the Holy Grail War

"Ritsuka, you have traveled far and wide, so you must know the Masters of this age. Name some for me."

Fujimaru Ritsuka said, "How would I know any Masters?"

Rex replied, "Don't be so modest."

Ritsuka said, "I am fortunate to serve in Chaldea, thanks to their gracious support. There are truly Masters in this world I don't know." Rex said, "Even if you don't know their faces, surely you've heard their names."

Ritsuka said, "Sajyou Manaka, the Root Princess. Could she be a Master?" Rex laughed and said, "A withered corpse in its tomb. I'll capture her sooner or later!"

Ritsuka said, "Lord El-Melloi II, the Clock Tower's shining star, a veteran with many former students. He now holds sway over the Clock Tower, where many students are capable. Could he be a Master?"

Rex laughed and said, "Waver is fierce in appearance but timid at heart, full of schemes yet incapable of making a decision. He'd risk his life for small gains but would sacrifice nothing for a great cause. He's no Master."

Ritsuka said, "There's a man known as the Miracle God, whose fame shakes Fuyuki. Could Shirou Emiya be a hero?" Rex said, "The Hero of Justice is all reputation and no substance. He's no Master."

Ritsuka said, "There's a man who calculates every move, the leader of Yggdmillennia. Is Darnic a Master?" Rex said, "He stabbed his Servant in the back just to satisfy his selfish desire to 'leave his name behind.' He's no Master."

Ritsuka said, "Could Rin Tohsaka of Fuyuki be a Master?" Rex said, "Though Rin is my wife, she's merely a defender of the status quo. What makes her worthy of being a Master!"

Ritsuka said, "What about people like Tokiomi, Kiritsugu, and Kirei?" Rex clapped his hands and laughed loudly. "Those petty nobodies aren't worth mentioning!"

"Apart from them, I truly know no one."

"A Master is someone who carries Command Spells in their heart, has a wheelchair in their belly, can tear a BEAST apart with their bare hands, and aspires to swallow all of human history."

Ritsuka said, "Who could live up to that?"

Rex pointed at Ritsuka, then at himself, and said:

"The only Masters in the world today are Ritsuka and Rex."
