A space anomaly caused by a bizarre earthquake plunges Nie Wen, an urban white-collar worker who is experiencing a relationship crisis, and Zhang Yiyi, a graduate student in the Department of Biology, into the turbulence of time and space. When they wake up, they suddenly find themselves in a completely unfamiliar world - the steel jungle of the 25th century. Skyscrapers, flying vehicles, ubiquitous holographic projections, and huge war mechas patrolling the streets all impact their cognition.
While being hunted as "unidentified persons" in the chaos, they were accidentally involved in the crossfire between the Alliance and the Empire's mecha forces. With his extraordinary calmness and a bit of luck, Nie Wen accidentally activated and briefly controlled a damaged Alliance mecha, saving the two of them. This move attracted the attention of the alliance military, especially Nie Wen (a different person with the same name), a young commander of the elite mecha regiment who had closed his heart due to the trauma of the war.
In order to survive and find the possibility of returning home, the two had to rely on Zhang Yiyi's biological knowledge and Nie Wen's adaptability to struggle in this crisis-ridden future world. Nie Wen was recruited into the mecha army under unusual circumstances and learned to control these steel giants from scratch. His "primitive" thinking mode and cherishing of life seemed incompatible with the cold war machines but brought unexpected tactical miraculous effects. Because of her biological background, Zhang Yiyi was assigned to the logistics medical and biotechnology department to study the unique biotechnology and war trauma of this era.
In the process of facing life and death tests side by side and coping with the technological shock and cultural impact of the future world, Nie Wen and Zhang Yiyi relied on each other and grew together, and their long-cooled feelings rekindled a fiery spark.
