The story begins in the future city "New Arc City", where memories are quantified into "spirit" and can be traded. Ling Yuan, a top memory lawyer, discovered that his memory was disappearing. A failed mission pushed him into a desperate situation. In order to protect himself, he is forced to cooperate with the black market legend and memory hacker Fei. The two reached an agreement to jointly sneak into the "Eternal Life Technology" that monopolizes ectoplasm technology to find out the truth.
Their actions alerted K, the mysterious leader of Immortality Technology, and discovered that Ling Yuan's memory problem was closely related to the "Oracle Project" led by K. As the investigation deepened, they revealed the horrific nature of the Oracle's plan - K attempted to establish a collective consciousness that swallowed individual wills and realize his twisted "human evolution." The mysterious woman "Xi" in Ling Yuan's broken memory is the founder of the plan. In order to stop K, she turned her core code into pieces and hid it in the young Ling Yuan's mind.
In order to prevent the catastrophe, Ling Yuan must serve as a "key" to enter the core of the oracle and destroy it from the inside. Under the cover of Fei and the power of the black market, Ling Yuan entered the data world and launched the ultimate spiritual showdown with K. In the end, Ling Yuan gave up his obsession with saving the phantom of personal memory, fulfilled Xi's last wish, and destroyed the oracle system.
After the war, New Arc City fell into chaos but regained its freedom. Ling Yuan lost most of his memory, but started a new life with the surviving Fei.
