An unknown phenomenon called "Scarlet Fog" suddenly descends. The fog contains the power to distort reality, awakening sleeping "strange things" (revenge spirits, ancient gods' creations, strange stories about rules, etc.). They feed on human fear and life, and cannot be killed by conventional weapons. They can only be suppressed by the abilities of specific "supernatural items" or "awakened ones".
