I'm Clearly Just an Ordinary Mortal, Yet They All Call Me the Dao Ancestor

My name is Li Nianfan. I’m a transmigrator, and just an ordinary man who wants to farm and raise chickens.

I don’t have any grand ambitions. All I want is to live out my days in peace in this remote mountain valley, without getting mixed up with those cultivators who fly around everywhere.

But for some reason...

A few words I casually wrote were revered by the greatest sword saint of the age as the “True Meaning of the Sword Way.” He kneels outside my door all day, begging me for guidance.

The carp I raise in my backyard pond are considered by the Dragon Clan’s crown prince to be the “ancestral dragon soul.” He cries and begs to be recognized as their descendant.

A few potatoes I gave to my elderly neighbor were mistaken by the Elf Queen for “sacred fruits of life,” and saved the withering Tree of Life.

Even the broken stone I use to weigh down my pickle jar has become the “Divine Stone of Enlightenment,” coveted by every powerful figure on the continent.

Looking at these cultivators, who spend every day imagining things and constantly exclaiming, “I get it now!”, I really want to shout at them:

“Please stop making things up! I’m clearly just an ordinary man. Why do you keep calling me the Dao Ancestor?”
