The Tang Dynasty's King of Slacking: I Made Li Shimin Furious from the Start

[History + Transmigration + Lighthearted comedy + Subverting expectations + System]

Su Chen transmigrates to the Zhenguan era and binds himself to the [Ultimate Slacking System].

As long as he slacks off, shirks work, or dodges responsibility, he earns rewards. The lazier he is, the better the rewards!

From the start, during a court meeting, Su Chen hides in a corner and snores away.

[Ding! The Host has been detected sleeping openly in court. Slacking behavior rating: Unprecedented! Reward: high-yield divine rice, Champa rice! Mastery of The Essential Techniques for the Welfare of the People!]

Li Shimin: “You little brat! You're an official of the court, and you dare sleep soundly in the middle of a court session? Guards, drag him out!”

Before he can finish speaking, an urgent military report arrives, carried at top speed over eight hundred li: the Turks have invaded the border.

The ministers are at a loss, and Li Shimin is frantic with worry.

The drowsy Su Chen is woken by all the noise and casually mutters, “Why fight them? Winter's almost here. One heavy snowfall will freeze them to death. Just send some men to the Wei River and stage an empty-fort bluff.”

Li Shimin: “???”

From then on, an oddball appears in the Tang bureaucracy.

The more they try to demote him, the more auspicious treasures he “accidentally” presents.

The more they try to make him work, the more the new crops he discovers while slacking off fill the stomachs of the people of the Tang Dynasty.

Fang Xuanling: “Your Majesty, Su Chen may be lazy, but he is a pillar of our nation!”

Zhangsun Wuji: “This young man keeps achieving extraordinary things for our Tang Dynasty without even trying. Could he be an immortal?”

Li Shimin: “Su Chen! I hereby make you a duke. Now get up and do some work!”

Su Chen: “Your Majesty, please, just let me be useless. I only want to slack off!”
