A century after the Great Collapse, Earth's environment has undergone drastic changes. The sky is permanently shrouded in “rust storms,” the land lies barren, radiation runs rampant, and mutated monsters known as “Erosion Beasts” roam. The human survivors huddle in “Dome Cities” or “underground shelters” built from the ruins of the old world or newly developed materials. Resources are desperately scarce, technological progress has been severely disrupted, social structures have collapsed, and the strong prey on the weak.
