A hundred years after the "Great Collapse", the earth's environment changed drastically. The sky was shrouded in permanent "rust dust storms", the land was barren, radiation was rampant, and mutated monsters ("corrosion beasts") roamed. The surviving humans are huddled in "dome cities" or "underground shelters" built from old era relics or newly built materials. Resources are extremely scarce, science and technology are severely outdated, the social structure has collapsed, and the weak are preying on the strong.
