In the bustling "Shanghai", there is an old apartment with a long history and frequent occurrence of strange things - Jinghua Apartment. The apartment has a strategic location, but the rent is ridiculously low, just because there are countless horror legends circulating here: crying in the corridor late at night, furniture that moves by itself, residents who disappear in the elevator...
The protagonist Lin Mo, a freelance writer on the verge of bankruptcy, rented Room 404 of Jinghua Apartment in order to save money. He wanted to survive writing manuscripts and repay his debts, but he was unexpectedly involved in a series of strange events. He was forced to explore the secrets of the apartment with his neighbors. The truth was far more horrifying than the legend, and he was full of laughter in the process.
