Ordinary programmer Zhou Mo is accidentally struck by a mysterious meteorite fragment. When he wakes up, he discovers that he has gained the ability called “Data Vision”: he can see the flow of data through any electronic device and even hack into any system. But when he uses his ability to expose corruption among the company executives, he attracts the attention of the mysterious organization known as the “Darknet Alliance.”
While investigating a series of high-tech crimes, Zhou Mo meets investigative journalist Su Yuqing and hacking prodigy Chen Mo. The three team up to fight increasingly rampant cybercrime. However, as Zhou Mo’s ability continues to evolve, he discovers that he is being drawn into a terrifying plan called “New Era”: controlling all of humanity through brain-computer interfaces.
Even worse, Xu Zhijian, the head of the “Darknet Alliance,” has set his sights not only on Zhou Mo’s ability, but also kidnapped his father, who has been missing for years: a scientist forced to develop the organization’s control technology.
When Zhou Mo’s ability reaches its peak, he must choose between saving the world and destroying himself. In the end, he chooses to sacrifice himself to shut down the central system, only to miraculously come back to life a year later.
