"Echo in the Left Ear" tells the story of Yuzhi's rough and tenacious life. When she was nine years old, she lost hearing in her right ear due to otitis media. From then on, she became accustomed to listening attentively, like "a sunflower trying hard to face the sun." She married policeman Wang Deshan at the age of seventeen.
