Fleeing Famine With the Family: The Villainess Goes on a Rampage With Spoilers

Lin Wan came across a historical romance novel while scrolling on her phone at a milk tea shop. The villainess had exactly the same name as her. In the story, her whole family starved to death on the road while fleeing famine, and even as her father lay dying, he clutched the bundle he was taking to the capital for the imperial examinations. “That's awful, but what does it have to do with me?” Lin Wan scoffed around her straw. “Did the author feed their imagination to the dogs?”

That night, Lin Wan came home, blacked out, and collapsed onto scorching sand. Yellow sand filled the sky, and the dead lay everywhere. Her little brother was burning with fever in their mother's arms. Hunched over, their father stuffed the last half-piece of Guanyin clay into Lin Wan's hand. “Wanwan... don't be afraid...”

He was the impoverished scholar who starved to death in the book.
