The Seal of the Doorway, Envoys of the Realms

After a car accident, Lin Wan, a magazine editor, begins dreaming of an antique mirror and the strange man inside it. When she seeks help from psychologist Cheng Mo, she discovers that her dreams are connected to Cheng Mo’s missing father. Stranger still, her body begins to turn transparent, and her reflection slips increasingly out of her control, as if another “her” is trying to transmigrate through the mirror.

Cheng Mo conceals the truth: his father died mysteriously while studying supernatural passages through mirrors, and Lin Wan may be the chosen “Mirror Envoy,” capable of connecting two worlds. When Lin Wan touches the antique mirror, her life becomes unexpectedly bound to Cheng Mo’s. Forced to face the dangers of the mirror world together, they encounter a mirrored copy who calls himself Cheng Mo’s “brother” and is trying to replace the real Cheng Mo.

From Venice to Tokyo, from Berlin to Rio, the two investigate seven mirror nodes scattered around the world. They discover that each node holds a “vessel” resembling Lin Wan captive. Cheng Mo’s father’s ultimate plan gradually comes to light: use the power of the seven envoys to open the “Primordial Gate” and awaken an ancient being that has lain dormant. Lin Wan’s identity is far more complicated than anyone imagined. She is not an ordinary human, but a “fragment of humanity” split from Alicia, the first envoy.

When the red-coated woman at the seventh node gathers six tears of the envoys, Lin Wan becomes the final key. Her body struggles between her humanity and the power of the envoys, while the truth about Cheng Mo’s role as her guardian comes to light: he was born to control her, but love drove him to betray his programming. The two must stop the Primordial Gate from opening, pushing themselves to the limits of their new forms, or the mirror world will consume reality.
