There are always two smells floating in the corridors of Ruisi High School.
One is the mint candy on Yan Hui's fingertips, which is refreshing and a little sweet. He is an honors student who has always ranked first in his grade. Underneath his docile appearance, he hides a tempered poisonous tongue. The shadow of his mother's car accident when he was eleven years old, and the memory of being ridiculed in the first grade of junior high school, are like unfinished sugar dregs, lingering in his life. After transferring to another school and studying hard, he thought he would be able to avoid his past by getting into Ruisi, but he didn't expect that he would bump into another person's sunshine.
The other was the smell of sweat on Lu Chuan's body, mixed with the bubbles of ice-cold soda, fresh and reckless. He is a young man who sweats on the basketball court. He is as cheerful as the always sunny sky. His only weakness is mathematics. He was able to get into Rise because of his determination not to admit defeat. He didn't understand what depression meant. He just felt that the top student who was always eating sweets was like a mint wrapped in a hard shell, wanting people to peel it off and taste the taste inside.
When the poisonous mint collides with the cheerful soda, the collision of ice and fire hides the bud of a young man's thoughts. Those scars about the past and the confusion about growth seem to slowly become sweeter in the other person's presence.
This is the encounter between two teenagers, a mint-flavored summer, and a youth filled with bubbles of soda.
