When We Decided to Say We Love Each Other

Youth is a book written in haste. The glances exchanged by the windowsill were an unread prologue, while the ice crystals forming in a desolate corner on a snowy night were a silent cry of despair. He was used to hiding his thoughts in a cocoon of silence; she always turned her grievances into falling snow. From their first innocent stirrings to eight years spent separated by mountains and seas, every step closer was accompanied by the jarring sound of something breaking. When their vows sank into the river of daily life, they finally began, clumsily, to peel away their cocoons of silence amid the ruins of their arguments, quietly mending the morning light torn apart by the wind. It turns out love isn't a sudden flutter of the heart. It's two hearts crossing a thousand miles of misunderstanding, finally learning to speak of their pain and tenderly embrace each other's vulnerability.
