[Do not treat this as accurate history. This is an alternate-history story with a light historical basis and a touch of transmigration.]
Ten years after the bloody battle of Changping, on a snowy night in the depths of the Handan palace, the modern soul Zhao Wan opens her eyes and becomes a twelve-year-old princess of Zhao.
She knows that the ten-year-old Ying Zheng before her will one day become the ruler who conquers all six kingdoms. She also knows that her homeland will eventually fall to him.
Yet on that snowy night, she still reaches out to save the dying young hostage, and with her own hands casts her fate into the torrent of history.
From the freezing prison of Handan to the palaces of Xianyang, she stands by him through his darkest days as a prisoner, and witnesses his coronation as ruler of all under heaven.
He grants her the honored title of empress, but can no longer open the gates of the city that would let her return home.
The history books record only Emperor Qin Shi Huang’s conquest of the six kingdoms. No one knows that Empress Anyang once whispered beneath the snow outside the city:
“I offer Zhao as a sacrifice, in exchange for a lifetime of peace for you.”
She helps him lay the foundations of an empire meant to last ten thousand generations and changes its fate of sudden collapse. Only then does she glimpse the tenderness beneath the tyrant’s armor, a tenderness reserved for her alone.
It's very interesting to watch, and the plot is very vivid. I look forward to the love story between the little princess and the ancestor.
