War Fires Across the Land! From Mine Hunter to Tunnel Warfare Legend

In 1938, as North China falls, Japanese Army Major Koizumi Ichiro massacres Chenji Ji. Blacksmith Li Changgeng hides among the corpses and watches his fiancée get killed by a bayonet. Clutching a bloodstained explosives formula, he becomes the “Landmine Maniac,” using homemade “coffin mines” to blow up Japanese convoys.

When revenge brings a siege down on him, he is rescued from the brink of death by an underground Communist Party member. The words “Killing ten Japanese devils is not as good as saving a hundred villagers” bring him back from madness.

Dig tunnels, lay mines, link the villages!

From “crude minefields” to an “underground Great Wall,” from lone wolf to a raging prairie fire:

“Today we plant three thousand mines. Let the Taihang Mountains see a new dawn!”
