The story takes place in an imaginary world called "Canglan Realm". This world once had a highly developed civilization, but it declined due to a disaster known as the "Great Annihilation." There are different opinions on the cause of the Great Annihilation, which may be related to the overuse of a powerful energy called "Source Crystal". After the Great Annihilation, the world split into multiple regions, civilization regressed, and much ancient knowledge and power was forgotten or sealed. In the modern world of Canglan, technology and the remaining ancient magic/spiritual power coexist, but the whole is in a delicate state of balance, with both cooperation and competition among various countries and forces.
