This is an epic journey from Chang'an to Lingshan. With the belief of saving all sentient beings, Tang Monk led three disciples who each had magical powers but also carried their pasts - the fiery-eyed Sun Wukong, the honest and brave Zhu Bajie, and the loyal and steady Sha Wujing. They crossed thousands of rivers and mountains, dealt with demons and monsters, and competed with their own obsessions. They crushed the arrogance of the sky, cut off the illusions of the secular world, and finally understood the true meaning of "obtaining the scriptures" in the eighty-one difficulties: the so-called true scriptures are not in the spiritual mountain, but in the growth and redemption at every step on the westward journey.
