In a large urban city, five young people from different backgrounds formed the "Undercurrent Team", a folk suspense reasoning team with a common demand for justice. They accept commissions from citizens, media, and private individuals to solve bizarre cases. Behind every case are hidden social shadows and complex human nature - child abuse, fraud, disappearances, serial murders, power corruption, cyber violence, psychological alienation... The pasts of team members have emerged one after another, and inner entanglements and external pressures continue to affect the team's operations. While the team solves many mysteries, they also struggle with their own confusion, trauma, and betrayal. Multiple story lines run in parallel, and each volume unfolds from a different case and character perspective. Finally, the multiple lines converge on past mysteries and collective redemption, presenting a serious and realistic portrait of contemporary urban beings.
