The protagonist has no spiritual roots, but uses mortal martial arts to forge a truly heaven-defying path. He gathers a band of mortal martial heroes to slay Qi Refining cultivators and seize spirit stones, cultivation techniques, and talismans. He reforms the path of cultivation, pioneering heaven-defying methods for stealing spiritual power, including refining spirits into the body, cultivating formations within the body, refining artifacts into the body, and inscribing talismans into the body. He takes on the cultivation world and ultimately fights his way into the immortal realm.
