In the early morning of April 26, 1986, the blue light from the explosion at the Chernobyl nuclear power plant tore through the night sky in Pripyat.
Alexey, the husband of geologist Katya, works there.
Two days later, she was forced to evacuate, taking only fragments of her husband's research notes with her.
In 1988, the military suddenly recruited her to return to the death zone——
"The 'Nightingale Project' studied by your husband can help us win the Cold War."
After traveling deep into the radiation zone, she found her husband's notes scattered throughout the mutant creature's lair.
What's even more fatal is: the last line of the note reads:
"If you read this, I have succeeded in spreading the truth."
