Protagonist 1: Amu
The son of Orion in Tongmuzhai has had a fateful connection with snakes since his birth. He has a calm and reserved personality, with the unique acumen and tenacity of a wild child, and can easily read the emotions of animals, especially having an almost instinctive understanding with snakes. Due to his bond with Xiao Qing in his childhood, he always believed that "all things have animism" and was not bound by the prejudice against snakes in the village. He spent his whole life guarding this cross-species friendship, and also exploring the deeper secret connection between his family and snakes.
Protagonist 2: Xiaoqing
A human-like green snake with diamond-shaped white stripes on its head is Amu's closest companion from childhood to adulthood. It is no ordinary snake. It seems to carry some ancient spirituality. It can not only stand up when Amu is in danger, but also protect the village with extraordinary abilities when it encounters a crisis (such as a severe drought). Its existence blurs the boundary between "animal" and "spirit", and its growth and transformation (from baby snake to giant snake, to mysterious disappearance and reappearance) run through the core of the entire story.
Story introduction
"Snake Entangled Green" is set in Tongmuzhai in western Hunan and tells the story of the cross-species bond between Amu, the son of Orion, and Xiaoqing, the spiritual snake. On the day Amu was born, a green snake as thick as a bucket was entrenched under the old banyan tree at the entrance of the village. The midwife regarded it as "an earth dragon recognizing a relative", and this began his indissoluble bond with snakes. In his childhood, Amu was inseparable from Xiaoqing Snake with white stripes on his head. Xiaoqing was not only his playmate, but also saved his life many times in danger, and even used his mysterious power to bring sweet rain to the village in a year of severe drought...
