To the west of Chang'an City, deep in the abandoned garden
The dusk was like blood, soaking through the ruins. Where the wind blows, the weeds lie low, revealing half of the bluestone monument - the two characters "Misty Rain" on the monument have been mottled, and the third character only remains next to the water, which seems to be the remnants of the character "".
The young man in black stopped in front of the monument.
He stretched out his hand to brush away the moss marks, and his fingertips touched a very deep sword mark. This mark traverses the stone tablet and spans twenty years.
"Found it." He whispered, with no trace of sadness or joy in his voice.
There were footsteps behind me, very light, like a cat stepping on the roof tiles. The young man didn't look back, he just asked: "How many days did that fire last?"
"Three days and three nights." The person who came was an old servant in gray clothes. He was stooped but his eyes were astonishingly bright. "After the fire is extinguished, this monument will be the only thing left here."
The young man was silent. As the twilight grew darker, the sound of time-telling drums came from the bell tower in the distance - thump, thump, thump, heavy, like beating on old scars.
"The master said before he died," the old servant's voice trembled, "If the master really wants to check, he must remember four words."
"What four words?"
"The rain falls in Chang'an."
The young man suddenly raised his head. The last ray of light in the western sky happened to pass over the sword mark on the monument. At that moment, he seemed to see someone standing in front of the monument at dusk twenty years ago, and then the rain fell.
That rain lasted for twenty years.
