[The blurb doesn't do it justice. Read the story!]
[Slow burn + gets satisfying later + behind-the-scenes mastermind]
Good news: I transmigrated into a wealthy noble family...
Even “better” news: The family fell...
Best news of all: I started out in prison...
Lin En transmigrated into a wasteland world, where another “Lin En,” with the same name, awoke in a decrepit prison, a noble outcast caught up in a political purge.
At his most desperate, he discovered he could create alternate characters!
Maybe dying wasn't such a sure thing after all.
From then on, the wasteland became his personal VR game, and he was the player behind the scenes. He created characters: mercenaries, mutants, scavengers... Then he sent his consciousness into the radiation-soaked wasteland to face giant beasts and humanity at its worst.
Hungry? Afraid? Dead?
“Why should my alt eat? I haven't even eaten yet!”
“Dead? Just start a new game.”
“In my way? Chop them down.”
From a dark prison cell, he controlled his characters:
He sent the “brawler” to walk through minefields and scout deadly ruins;
He used the “castoff” to lure out and kill a mutated giant scorpion, then salvaged its chitinous shell;
He “happened” to rescue a scavenger girl, just so he could wipe out the raiders in his way...
Watching his alts grow happier by the day, Lin En thought:
Maybe I should break out of prison first!
And so, on that day...
Prison thugs roared, wasteland drifters trembled, and city-state power brokers were stunned.
Surrounded by the alts of powerful figures, Lin En was forced to take his place as the wasteland's god.
“I really didn't mean to become a god.”
Even turning the world upside down is just part of the fun.
It feels like there is no traffic, and I can't even search it in the wasteland column. Come on, keep writing
