Born into a calamity, with his reverse scale as the key, ten thousand ghosts carry a coffin to claim his life!
He was born on a night of blood and ill omen. A dragon's roar shook the heavens and souls, heralding his supreme destiny, while ten thousand ghosts from the netherworld carried a coffin, sealing his fate of certain death. The dark golden reverse scale on his chest was a forbidden power capable of overturning life and death, and an eternal brand that invited disaster.
Still an infant, he was taken to Dragon-Sealing Peak by the mysterious Daoist Xuanwei. For ten years, his master suppressed the reverse scale and kept him safe from the terrifying Ghost Coffin, which devoured living beings and wiped villages off the map. But a heavenly tribulation struck, the seal weakened, and his wicked disciple turned on him, staining the Daoist temple with blood. His master gave his life to protect him, buying him a chance to survive, but also exposing the aura of the reverse scale completely.
Washed up at an unnamed ferry crossing, he took the alias Shuisheng, thinking he could disappear into the murky world like a drifting duckweed. Little did he know that the fiends beneath the river would stir at the dragon power within him, while the ordinary people at the crossing would tremble at the strange signs he revealed. The reverse scale on his chest was like a beacon in the night, attracting the covetous gaze of evil spirits and constantly drawing the enormous, cold, merciless Ghost Coffin hanging over his fate closer!
The mysterious ferryman's fishing lamp illuminated his dead end twice, but also brought an even graver prophecy: the Ghost Coffin had locked onto his location, and its arrival could not be avoided! Ahead, the life-taking coffin that devoured all things pressed closer with every step. Behind him, river fiends and evil puppets from the shore pursued him relentlessly. An abandoned village funeral home, paper figures keeping watch at night, and eerie coffins became a place where he could catch his breath, while also hiding deeper mysteries and entangled fates.
