In the eighth year of Hongwu, Liu Bowen receives an imperial decree to cut down every dragon vein in the land. But when he reaches Changbai Mountain, he sees a purple aura curled up like an infant. In secret, he severs only half of the dragon’s tendon and lets it escape. Three drops of blood spatter across his bronze divination plate. “I’ll leave you one chance to glimpse the secrets of fate. Do not betray the land of Huaxia.”
Who could have known that years later the dragon vein would become a scourge, its black scales growing backward as it turned against the Central Plains? The Hongwu Emperor urgently summons Zhang Qiuzhen, a nation-protecting celestial master born with the pattern of the Big Dipper in his palm and the forces of yin and yang concealed in his brow. Carrying the imperial sword bestowed by the emperor, he heads straight for the northeast.
The howling wind sets his Taoist robes snapping. Zhang Qiuzhen steps upon the dragon-vein map of the Nine Provinces and raises his sword toward the Seven-Star Lamp:
“Bowen planted the cause; Qiuzhen will settle the debt!”
Suddenly, a hundred-foot black dragon bursts through the air where the avalanche splits apart. Its red eyes reflect the bloodstains on Liu Bowen’s divination plate from years ago!
Copper coins fly like rain. The celestial master roars:
“By decree of Ziwei, mountains and rivers, obey!”
He steps forward and raises his sword!!!
