Pale Dawn Bones

(Plot-focused + ensemble cast + serious drama + dark fantasy + beautiful, strong, and tragic characters + redemption)

Special agent Gu Sheng receives a top-secret mission: infiltrate the mysterious city of Boming, assess an immortal organization called “Wu,” and seize an opportunity to wipe it out.

The laws of this city are strange. The tolling of the dusk bells heralds the night’s hunters.

Gu Sheng assumes his target is merely Moyideng, the brooding leader. But he discovers that he is at the center of a vast conspiracy: he is a clone of Moyideng’s long-dead close friend, Mo Yan.

When Moyideng launches an apocalyptic virus after his companions are killed, intending to slaughter all the “false gods” in the human world, Gu Sheng is forced to confront the original sin.

He must use “Mayfly,” a dagger forged from his friend’s bones, to carry out one last mission: kill his only old friend in Boming, the very madman about to bring divine punishment upon the new world.
