I Played a Throat-Slitting Killer to Stardom, but the Audience Is Demanding I Confess
The camera was shoved in my face just after I won the Best Villain Award for my “throat-slitting scene.”
“Mr. Lin, your portrayal of a serial killer was so convincing. Have you ever committed a real murder?” The reporter smiled, a knife hidden in his words.
Before I could fire back, the comment feed exploded:
“The way he holds the knife is exactly like the real killer!”
“Look at the scar on his neck. It matches the killer's description from the victim!”
“Why isn't the police investigating him?!”
That afternoon, a man's body was found in the alley behind the theater. His fatal wound was a single, precisely delivered slash to the throat.
Even crazier, the killer had imitated my signature move from the movie.
The whole internet went wild: “See? I told you! The award-winning actor went out and killed someone himself!”
I looked at my reflection, at the knife grip I'd practiced for three months, and felt a chill run down my back.
They didn't know that, to play this role convincingly, I'd watched twenty-seven autopsies with a forensic pathologist and studied criminal psychology with the System.
Now I'd become the kind of person I knew best:
A killer everyone had already convicted.
And the real devil was sitting in front of a screen, imitating my performance and enjoying this hunting game starring me.
After reading a few chapters, I personally think it's okay. Author, please keep writing, there is a little bit written. It's a decent novel, I'll give it five stars.
Very nice article, thank you to the author! \ (>V<)/
