Heavy rains continued for seventeen days, and the city fell into Zeguo. Advertising designer Han Fei hid in a roofless unit building with his daughter in his arms. Watching his former neighbors fight over half a bag of biscuits, he realized that all it takes for civilization to collapse is a flood.
In order to survive, he took his daughter and the survivors through the streets filled with corpses, fighting with thugs who were robbing water, and dealing with bullies who occupied wells. When human nature is torn into good and evil halves in a desperate situation, a broadcast from the air-raid shelter suddenly sounds - "Purification is coming, and the evolutionary plan is launched."
In the bloody dawn, fluorescence floated in the back mountains, mysterious lines appeared on the children's palms, and those who had been injected with silver light began to roar and transform. Han Fei clutched the blood-stained steel pipe tightly and looked at the unstained red sky in the south: the real disaster is not the flood, but this "new life" that devours humanity. Is the glimmer of light above the embers salvation, or deeper despair?
