On Blue Star, humans and ghosts coexist.
The Spirit Pact Organization specializes in dealing with wild ghosts.
Everyone awakens their own fated ghost at the age of eighteen.
After losing her memory, Chu Jinglan binds herself to a drama queen System. Her rebellious streak kicks in, and she deliberately keeps her grades low, yet manages to get into a second-rate university through sheer ability. This also draws her into a storm of trouble. (She figured out long ago that this second-rate university was anything but ordinary.)
The System wails on a daily basis: “Host, stop tormenting the ghosts!”
Chu Jinglan pins a ghost against the wall and grinds it into the dirt. “Relax, I know what I’m doing.”
Then the international instances begin. She’s a student at this second-rate university, and a woman to boot.
Chu Jinglan smiles. “If men can do it, women can too.”
In the worlds of the instances, she and her companions grow through one hardship after another, ultimately uncovering the mystery of her origins.
