On his eighteenth birthday, Shen Ci woke up from a dream about a car accident.
No rain, no trucks, no shattered windshields. The sunshine outside the window was just right, the servants were setting up a birthday party in the garden of the villa, and his parents were waiting for him downstairs to eat longevity noodles.
Everything was as perfect as it was the most ordinary day in the past eighteen years.
Except for the scar on the inside of my wrist that shouldn't exist.
Shen Ci remembered that rainy night. I remember blood dripping from my palms, I remember the world being so quiet as if the pause button had been pressed, I remember someone holding an umbrella and wearing white clothes like snow, standing in the rain curtain and looking at him.
But everyone told him that it didn't rain last night.
He didn't know whether to trust his memory or the intact world in front of him.
Until he discovered that the scar was getting lighter every day.
It was like someone far, far away, loosening his hand little by little.
From then on, Shen Ci began to wait for someone.
Wait in the crowd. Wait on a rainy day. Waiting in every dusk that seems familiar.
He knew she existed.
But the world is erasing all traces of her.
And the only thing he can do is remember.
