Yan Zhenqing, courtesy name Qingchen, was born in Linyi, Langxie. When he was 3 years old, his father passed away and his family fell into decline. When he was 12 years old, he went to live with his maternal grandparents. He is diligent and studious, loves reading, is good at calligraphy, and writes articles. He once practiced calligraphy using mud as ink and walls as paper. At the age of 25, he went to the capital to prepare for the examination. At the age of 26, he passed the Jinshi A Division and was appointed as the school secretary. Yan Zhenqing was not only a loyal and upright patriotic general and official, but also a very influential calligrapher in the history of Chinese calligraphy. His "Yan style" calligraphy is famous for its dignified, majestic and magnificent calligraphy, which had a profound impact on the development of calligraphy in later generations.
