Story of Minglan: The Gu Family Is Mine to Rule

(System, absolute force)

A modern soul unexpectedly transmigrates into the world of The Story of Minglan, becoming Gu Tingchen, an illegitimate son in a collateral branch of the Gu family, from the second branch that was never mentioned in the original story and who is badly bullied.

At this point, he has just narrowly escaped death after being framed by his legitimate elder brother. His mother, Concubine Liu, is weak and easily bullied, while his younger sister, Gu Tingyue, lives in constant fear in the inner household. The second Old Madam, Shen, born into a prominent family, regards all three of them as a thorn in her side and would love nothing more than to get rid of them. Beneath the surface, a struggle is brewing over the title of Weiyuan Earl. Both legitimate elder brothers have their own schemes, and the fate of the Gu family’s second branch seems to have been decided long ago.

But they do not know that the Gu Tingchen of today is no longer the timid boy anyone can manipulate.

His soul transmigrates, and he immediately binds to a sign-in System. He signs in at a Sheng family banquet and gains basic combat ability; he signs in during the turmoil surrounding Gu Tingye’s imperial examination and receives a hundred dan of provisions; when war breaks out at the border, he signs in and gets improved bows and crossbows... As the plot of The Story of Minglan unfolds, he accumulates fate points at one key event after another, exchanging them for divine weapons, methods for building a powerful army, and even the strategic insight to reshape the political landscape.

From domestic power struggles to political scheming, from struggling to survive in the cracks to making a name for himself, Gu Tingchen looks at the chessboard others have arranged and gives a cold laugh.

“The Gu family’s path is mine to choose. This title, this realm, deserve a different way of doing things!”

Watch an illegitimate son turn his fortunes around with a sign-in System, taking control of the Gu family’s second branch step by step in this turbulent age, then influencing the entire Gu family and eventually wielding power over the court, living a remarkable life unlike any other.
