In the Name of the People: I, Gao Yuliang, Will Never Repeat My Past Mistakes

Gao Yuliang jolts awake from a violent palpitation, his shirt soaked with cold sweat. He looks at the calendar: fate has given him a chance to start over.

In his previous life, he prided himself on standing by his principles, yet he lost ground at every turn in the whirlpool of power, ultimately ending in disgrace. This time, Gao Yuliang looks at himself in the mirror, complex emotions churning in his eyes. The regrets and resentments of the past, the trust he betrayed and the abilities others underestimated, will all be rewritten in this life.

But when he faces those familiar faces and similar choices again, will the “foresight” of a man reborn make him more adept at navigating events, or will it cast an even deeper chill over every calculated move? In this game of power, with rebirth as his stake, will he reach an untouchable summit, or fall into a darker abyss than before?

The game of chess in Handong has quietly begun anew. This time, Gao Yuliang will place every piece himself, all the way to the end.
