The story is set in the city of Chang'an during the Zhenguan period, and it tells the story of a young man who possessed the same name and fell into the water, and relied on advanced medical knowledge to gain a foothold in Chang'an. He met Su Wan, who broke the rules and acted as a co-worker, because of a bizarre murder case. After that, the two became partners and jointly solved a series of complex cases.
