Factory director Yuan Yong insisted on industry and strived to expand polyester filament production capacity; deputy director Wan Xueming was eager for quick success and advocated land speculation in Shenzhen.
Yuan Yong has experienced the transformation of the factory from a nursery to a chemical fiber factory. He is pragmatic and tenacious. He established a research team and invited experts to demonstrate the feasibility of expanding production with detailed data. Wan Xueming was a "relocation worker" with a domineering style. His proposal for land speculation was rejected, and he was punished due to style issues. He eventually died of illness under multiple blows.
