[Genius Painter and Writer] VS [High-Energy Police Officer] [Sweet Romance + One-on-One + No Rivalry Between Women + No Nonsensical Plotlines + A Touch of Angst + Age Gap + Both Leads Are Each Other's First] Lu Chen, a 28-year-old homicide detective, is as steady and sharp as his profession demands. Years of fieldwork have given him a healthy sun-kissed complexion, and the scar between his left thumb and forefinger is both a badge of honor and a reminder of his obsessive attention to case details. He comes from an ordinary family and followed his police officer father into the force. Though he has seen darkness, he has always kept his heart turned toward the light. He simply isn't good at expressing himself, and often hides his feelings behind cigarette packs and case files. There's just one person he can't handle. That person is Bai Musheng, a 23-year-old genius writer and painter from an ultra-wealthy family. Her skin is almost translucent, and she's as slender as a cat. Endowed with extraordinary talent, she's also unbelievably lazy: she'd rather lie down than sit, and only leaves the house when the mood strikes. She has little sense of the value of money, yet even her casual creations are worth a fortune. Frail and always staying up late to meet deadlines, she puts on a pitiful face whenever she's caught. Apart from creating art, she spends her days with her two dogs: Yunqi, a gentle Alaskan Malamute, and Mugui, a watchful Czech Wolfdog fiercely devoted to its owner. The two meet through an art fraud case. When Lu Chen comes to investigate, he finds Bai Musheng wrapped in a blanket and squeezed onto the sofa with her dogs. She points to the sunset and asks whether the clouds look like the painting she hasn't finished. And this isn't the first time they've met. From then on, the stern detective and the lazy genius find themselves between the everyday warmth of life and the art studio. The leads have a five-year age gap. Please skip this one if that bothers you. (Fictional setting. Crime solving takes up a large portion of the story, though the early cases are very short. The romance is direct, and the story of their past is wrapped up in ten chapters before the main story begins.)
