Biography of Zhouyi and Chengshi (Free Public Edition Book)

A work that annotated the Zhouyi and elaborated on Neo-Confucianism. Also known as "Zhouyi Biography of Cheng Shi" and "Yi Zhuan of Cheng Shi". Written by Song Chengyi. Cheng Yi called him Mr. Yichuan, so he wrote the book with his name. "History of the Song Dynasty·Yiwenzhi" has nine volumes, "Er Cheng Quan Shu" has four volumes, and in 1981 Zhonghua Book Company's "Er Cheng Collection" also has four volumes. Yang Shi's "Postscript" said: "Mr. Yichuan wrote the "Yi Zhuan" before it was completed. He left his hands and feet and taught his book to his disciple Zhang Jiang. Not long after Jiang died, his book was scattered and lost, and there are no good copies passed down by scholars." Confucian scholars in the Song Dynasty discussed "Yi", each with its own meaning, Shao Yong said several words about "Yi", and Cheng Yi explained the "Yi" rationally, both of which were "different from the original purpose of the previous Confucianism." The book was written in the second year of Song Yuanfu (1099). "Yichuan Yi Zhuan" imitates Wang Bi's "Zhou Yi Zhu" in style, only annotating the "Book of Changes" and "", "Xiang" and "Wenyan" three biographies, leaving no annotations for the other biographies. The annotations of the biography are also the same as Wang Bi's, and they are listed under each hexagram and line for explanation. Cheng Yi admired the works of Wang Bi, Hu Ai and Wang Anshi who annotated "Yi", inherited their style of interpretation of "Yi", and emphasized the meaning of Yi theory over the number of images.
