Li Xuan is a homebody living in the 21st century. He enjoys reading transmigration novels, making wooden crafts, growing all kinds of flowers, herbs, and vegetables at home, and brewing fruit wine using recipes he finds on short-video platforms. One stormy day, Li Xuan is walking home from the supermarket with a pile of snacks, just like always... when suddenly, a bolt of lightning strikes him...
This story grew out of ideas I had when I was young. From the first time I read a transmigration novel, I wondered why transmigrators always had to get a golden finger or a starter pack. What if they had nothing at all? No martial arts, no prestigious status. What would they do? So I decided to try writing it that way. I’m currently planning four or five volumes, each covering a stage of life. The first volume will focus on surviving and building a life from scratch. The second will explore the many people who come and go in life: love that goes unreturned, partings through death, and a lifelong companionship as calm as still water. In the third, after facing a major upheaval, the protagonist begins to find meaning in life, opening a school and teaching modern knowledge. The fourth will show what the disciples or friends are like when they’ve grown up. The fifth will follow the protagonist into old age, living out his final years in peace before passing away quietly. Isn’t this the most ordinary, yet most passionate, life of all?
