At the intersection of the multiverse, there exists a mysterious organization called the "Narrative Authority", which maintains the fate of countless worlds. However, an illegal program called the "Villain System" is destroying the balance of these worlds. Levi, an ordinary college student, was accidentally bound to this system and became its host. The system promised to give him endless power and eternal life, at the cost of traveling through different worlds and hunting down those "protagonists" favored by fate. As the mission progresses, Levi discovers that the protagonists in each world have some mysterious connection with him, and there is a more terrifying truth hidden behind the system - it is not a simple program, but an ancient being imprisoned, who is using Levi to collect the "protagonist halo" to break free.
