Synopsis of "Skeleton Tide":
The plate displacement tore apart the continent, and 90% of the land sank into the salty seabed, leaving only the Broken Islands and the remains of skyscrapers floating in the flood. Seawater radiation has given rise to horrific mutations: long-toothed squids occupy the deep sea, and electric rays form a death grid. The "fish transformation ability" awakened among surviving humans is not only a bargaining chip for survival, but also a curse that devours human nature. The deeper the fish transformation, the easier it is for sanity to be eroded by animal nature.
Su Yu, an aquarium keeper, awakened from death during a tsunami and became the legendary shark. He can soothe ferocious beasts with his singing, heal those who have turned into fish with mucus, and his legs can turn into tail fins, but he has to be with the water all day long. When the silver scales appear, it is the beginning of the fading of humanity. In order to survive, he used his supernatural powers to defraud fresh water, but was eventually captured by Li Cang, the captain of the "Crazy Shark".
Li Cang, a former gangster, a violent and strong man who awakened the power of a shark. His ship is an isolated island in the apocalypse, he lives by plundering, and his men are all ruthless characters. He imprisoned Su Yu and regarded it as a pathfinding tool and a healing potion. However, when he lost control of Su Yu on a full moon night, he could only tame the shark's song for a moment.
When other sanctuaries covet the "enhancement" effect of shark human flesh, and when deep-sea octopus superpowers control the water flow to hunt down entire ships of humans, these two aliens, who are bound by each other's use, glimpse a strange possibility of symbiosis amidst suspicion and betrayal. The gill slits and vertical pupils are getting clearer and clearer. They are getting further and further away from human beings. They can only gamble on their alienated humanity and last trust for each other's survival in the ever-rising tide.
