Shen Qingci, heir to one of the capital's most powerful families, assumes the identity of the Buddhist monk Xuanzhao and retreats to Qingyun Temple. But the illustrator Su Wan shatters his peace when she barges in. She sees the restraint and control beneath his monk's robes, while he lets her shake his faith and draw out his edge. From tentative attraction at the temple to a storm of revelations about his identity in the capital, family infighting and public scrutiny come one after another. Torn between faith and worldly life, the two eventually find reconciliation through saving each other: the mountain moon remains unchanged, and Buddha and the mortal world coexist in love.
