Soon after, ancient martial arts manuals were no longer just legends, gene serums could mass-produce strongmen, and mechs powered by mental energy showed off at military parades.
Humanity was overjoyed, believing it had entered a new era.
That was until the first “dimensional rifts” appeared deep in the Pacific. Hideous alien beasts surged ashore amid a torrent of purple-black energy, devouring thriving coastal cities and leaving ruins in their wake.
That day would later be known as the “Great Sundering.”
