The male protagonist, Gao Yang, has a childhood friend, Li Mei, who suddenly disappeared in sixth grade. Devastated by their daughter’s disappearance, Li Mei’s parents eventually died of grief. Ten years have passed, but Li Mei is still missing. The matter has always weighed on Gao Yang, leaving him unable to move on.
