[First love, long-laid plans, second marriage, father-daughter regret, substitute]
My husband’s ex-girlfriend is back!
He brings her into our home, tells our daughter to call her Mommy, and pins her down to kiss her fiercely at night.
When we’re alone, she taunts me: “What’s it like being a widow in all but name for five years?”
Only then do I realize that the five years I devoted to him were nothing but a joke.
--
After the divorce, my boss starts pursuing me: “A marriage of convenience to deal with our elders. I’ll give you five million a month and won’t interfere with your freedom.”
My boss may be cold and stern, but five million a month is hard to resist.
“Didn’t you say you wouldn’t interfere with my freedom?”
Only later do I learn that what I thought was a passing whim had been his plan all along.
It's quite good to watch. It's not a mindless novel, nor does it have a boring plot. I like it personally.
It's the first time I've seen this style. It's okay. I'll continue to follow it.
