Luring You Into a Love That Spans the Years

[Runaway pregnancy]

[Slight angst + groveling pursuit after losing his wife]

[Open rivalry and secret competition]

An Wanqing had loved following Si Shaotian around since she was five.

Over time,

it became a habit.

A habit of letting Si Shaotian have whatever he wanted.

No matter how outrageous Si Shaotian’s actions were, An Wanqing would never refuse as long as it was him.

Later,

on An Wanqing’s eighteenth birthday,

Si Shaotian made a bet with his friends, wagering that he could control everything about her.

An Wanqing knew it was all a farce, but still threw herself into the game without hesitation, giving herself to him.

When An Wanqing first learned that Si Shaotian had a girlfriend, she neither cried nor made a scene. She moved out of the Si family home that very day, only for Si Shaotian to drag her back in the middle of the night and torment her until dawn.

By the time she learned for the Nth time that Si Shaotian had an N+1st girlfriend, An Wanqing was already numb to it all.

Her bedroom had long since become Si Shaotian’s regular haunt,

and she herself had been branded as belonging to him alone.

As far as An Wanqing was concerned, Si Shaotian could do whatever he wanted. After all, she had loved him so much that she had lost herself.

And yet...

Even so,

Si Shaotian still had no intention of bringing An Wanqing into the light. He even kept his engagement a secret from her.

On the day An Wanqing learned that Si Shaotian was about to get engaged, she sat alone in her room for a long time.

The news drained every last bit of strength from her and snuffed out the final spark of light in her heart.

And so,

An Wanqing finally chose to give up.

Not because she had come to terms with it,

nor because she no longer loved him,

but simply because she wanted to set herself free.

She unilaterally ended the ten-year-long game of chasing and obsessing over him.

Who could have guessed that after An Wanqing left,

that man would refuse to let her go...
