Ling Yun enters the martial world with a short blade and accidentally gets caught up in a demonic cult's scheme to seize a map of military provisions. He joins forces with Su Wan'er, a physician, and they pursue the cult from a cave in Zhongnan Mountain to the snowy northern frontier, from the Golden Hall in the capital to the raging seas of the South Ocean. Using the Water-Cutting Art and her silver-needle medical skills, they foil one plot after another: the Minister of War colluding with the enemy, Yin Qianrou refining an elixir of immortality, and Shi Wanchen laying an ambush on Mount Kunlun. They uncover the shocking secret of the cult's infiltration of the imperial court. Along the way, they rally forces from the martial world, including the Beggars' Sect and Shaolin, and hold fast to their chivalrous ideals amid flashing blades and swords. In the end, they purge the cult's remnants and marry in Jiangnan. With the guiding principle that "the heart of chivalry never dies, and the light of justice shines forever," this tale weaves a legend spanning north and south across the Central Plains, blending the rivalries of the martial world with the greater duty of protecting the nation. It bears witness to the heartfelt devotion of a heroic couple who protect the people through storm and strife.
