1937, Jinling.
Shen Wenyuan, the Juntong's “Judge,” has a shocking secret: whenever he speaks with someone, he can glimpse the deepest secrets in their heart, which automatically take the form of images.
After taking down a Japanese spy den and seizing a top-secret radio, he receives no commendation. Instead, he is assigned an undercover mission codenamed “Heaven-Swapping”: erase his old identity and become the Japanese spy chief Asano Shinichi.
From then on, a devil's mask covers the face of the Judge.
At the Special Higher Police, he is the Empire's rising star, “Mr. Asano.” In casual conversation, he learns everything: the enemy's sweep routes, the coordinates of gold-smuggling ships, and every other closely guarded secret.
He proceeds with trepidation, rising from mysterious newcomer to trusted aide. At last, from the peak of the Devil's Den, he looks down upon the demons below.
“By this order, Asano Shinichi is appointed head of the Shanghai Special Higher Police!”
This commendation is the final funeral he has prepared for the enemy.
Shen Wenyuan sits atop the Devil's Den, looking down at the demons rampaging beneath him.
He taps the tabletop lightly with his fingertips, a cold curve forming at the corner of his mouth:
“Gentlemen, shall we talk about... the end of the Empire... that you keep hidden in your hearts?”
This is the busiest spy protagonist I have ever seen
No matter what others say, I think it is well written.
Not bad, worth a look
Very interesting, good luck to the author!
It's a pity that only a few people knew that he was a judge in the end.
It's been a long time since I've finished a novel, it's pretty good 👍👍👍
