It happened that the National Museum of Singapore was collecting historical materials on the coolie trade from 1910 to 1914. Lin Zhaoran went there with his diary and learned from historical researcher Dr. Chen that part of the truth about that period of history, which was full of blood and tears of Chinese workers, had been deliberately downplayed. In order to uncover the dark past buried by time, Lin Zhaoran embarked on the path of pursuit.
